The Photography Show, Rheged – Penrith

An Inspirational weekend dedicated to all things photographic.

May 13th & 14th was The Photography Show, two days of exhibition, film screenings, workshops and talks at rheged Penrith. The show included an exhibition area curated by some of Cumbria’s Camera Clubs with examples of the members’ work.

The Cumbrian landscape is one of the world’s most awe-inspiring spaces and the show really captures the majesty of the Lake District. This is the second year in and the show offers anyone with an interest in photography and video a chance to find out about the latest equipment, hear talks by some of the most inspiring filmmakers and photographers from across the region, buy gear and photography as well as picking up useful tips.

I thoroughly  enjoyed the atmosphere of the day and bought a couple of items from the stands & exhibitors, such as Stuart Holmes’s book Photographing The Lake District which was at a great price of just £18 on the day- a book bursting with 320 pages of inspiring and useful tips going out and about in The Lakes with your camera.

I also listened to Tiree Dawson’s afternoon talk on the Sunday which was inspiring and showed some of her amazing work and useful tips on building a business.

I am confident they will continue this great local show in the future. The website link
