Gummers How, The Lake District
Gummers How – have you visited this lovely view point in Cumbria?
Gummers How is situated at the southern end of Windermere near the National Trust owned Fell Foot Park, on the opposite side to Lakeside. It’s a simple walk which would take you less than an hour in total if you didn’t stop for photos and to admire the views like me! You follow the path, but due to the cattle can be very muddy in areas, I happened to slide in some mud! Rocky steps are easily clambered up but if you are feeling adventurous like we were then you can climb the rock face instead of the path round, certainly gets the heart going. It offers great views both up Windermere and also down beyond Newby Bridge to the sea. Worth a visit on a nice day, has a free car park and its a good warm up for the bigger hills and fells.
